The Site is located entirely within the administrative boundary of Stirling Council, and sits immediately north of the Carron Valley Reservoir. The Site is approximately 11km south west of Stirling city centre and will consist of up to 4 turbines with tip heights of up to 200 m, as displayed in the figure below.
On Wednesday 11th September, Eurowind Energy Limited submitted a Scoping Report to Stirling Council for our proposed Carron Valley Wind Farm.
The Scoping stage seeks to engage the planning authority and other statutory and non-statutory stakeholders at an early stage in the planning process; ensuring that key issues, based on local understanding, are identified.
Receipt of Scoping Responses in due course will help to inform the design of the wind farm, ahead of the submission of our planning application, likely in 2025.
The Scoping Report is available to view via the link at the bottom of this page.
Eurowind Energy Limited is fully committed to providing a community benefit fund of £5,000 per installed MW per annum.
We are keen to engage with local initiatives and communities to ensure local needs are met, as well as supporting new and existing community projects. Should consent be awarded, we would seek to implement a number of measures to ensure that local people, communities, and businesses are able to benefit from the project.
As part of their early engagement, EWE is encouraging local communities to get involved in the conversation around the proposals, and hosted two drop-in public exhibition events in November 2024. This first round of consultation gave local residents the opportunity to explore the proposals and speak directly with the project team. A second phase of consultation will take place in spring 2025. Residents were invited to the two following drop-in events for the Carron Valley Wind Farm:
· Tuesday 26 November 3pm – 7pm Fintry Sports & Recreation Club, Kippen Rd, Fintry, Glasgow G63 0YA
· Wednesday 27 November 3pm – 7pm Milton Suite, King Robert Hotel, Glasgow Rd, Stirling FK7 0LJ
On the exhibitions, Dr David McCaughie, Development Manager (UK), Eurowind Energy Ltd, said:
“We are keen to speak to local residents about our Carron Valley Wind Farm plans, so we can answer their questions and explore how we can maximise the benefits of our investment – including how the significant community fund could be used in the local area."
“Eurowind’s proposed wind farm would generate enough energy to power nearly 30,000 homes and save approximately 38,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from entering our atmosphere each year – playing its part in Scotland’s transition to a carbon-free energy future."
“We hope that all interested parties take this opportunity to share their feedback on these proposals and shape the project's future.”
If you were unable to attend the public consultation events, but would like to complete a feedback form, one can be completed on the 'Your Feedback' tab of this website. Exhibition materials can also be viewed below:
